is produced for the ear and designed to be heard, not read. When they had this conversation, I was in eighth grade, and we'd been in the US for almost nine years. And from very small period of time, I start drinking and I thought, OK, this is not good. I was still in college working as a secretary when I got a phone call one day. I had seen him cry once before when his father died, and that time he cried quietly, and I could tell he didn't want me to be any part of it. For 27 years, she thought my dad was the one thing holding her back. We had this glorious, liberated woman vision for her. Looked like somebody took a big, heavy weight off my shoulder, so I don't have to call a person every two hours and tell them where am I. She read the newspaper at a coffee shop exactly three times. Meanwhile, my dad was reluctantly turning into an American bachelor. And if he did have any free time, he spent it reading that most American of genres. I want to give myself more knowledge what I did wrong. And I don't know what even that means except that my parents got divorced, and then they talked about their feelings and they both went to therapy.
